Q +A with Matt

My favourite dance is (and why?) ...my favorite dance style to perform and watch would be a Jazz / Hiphop. The hiphop element is fun and high energy while the jazz element is technical. If this is done well its amazing!

The choreographer/dancer/performer I look up to the most is (and why?) ...Wow, theres so many. A good friend if mine who worked on the US SYTYCD is Brian Friedman. As a dancer he is brilliant and as a choreographer, genius! In Australia it would have to be the amazingly talented Kelley Abbey. A phenominal dancer that climbed the ladder and became Australia’s leading lady of dance.

I believe So You Think You Can Dance is a great opportunity for dancers in Australia because ...it will bring the dancers back into the spotlight. No longer will Dance be a background form of entertainment. This show will educate Australia on how many different styles of dance there is and how great our Australian dancers really are.

I am looking forward to being a host on So You Think You Can Dance because ...Being one of the face’s of So You Think You Can Dance Australia is a dream come true!  As dancer myself, it's so exciting that these dancers will be recognized for their extreame talent and dedication!

The best advice I can give the finalists is ...dance like no one is watching!! Stay true to yourself and HAVE FUN!!! Dance should be joyous!

The best part of working on So You Think You Can Dance is…. the chance to show the rest of Australia, and the world, what phenominal dancers we have in this country!! Giving Aussie dancers the spot light again, where they should be. Our dancers ROCK IT!

I can't live without…My Mac book!

The greatest risk I ever took was.... Wearing speedo’s and braces in a fashion parade when I was 7. HELL RISKY!

My greatest achievement…
I have 2 I’m very proud of….. Working along side Mega-star Hugh Jackman and playing the lead in an Oscar winning film Happy Feet.

Best piece of advice anybody's given you…
Be nice to everyone you meet on the way up, cause you’ll seem them again on the way back down.
